Sprinkler and Fire Alarm Systems

Fire protection has become an important part of the Building Code Requirement. Most new and renovated spaces as well as commercial properties need some sort of sprinkler and fire alarm system. All these systems need to be properly designed, filed with the Building Department and/or Fire Department and inspected on a regular basis. Since sprinkler and fire alarm systems are there to protect the occupants of a building from fire instances, and is enforced by the NYC Department of Buildings and the F.D.N.Y., it is vital to comply with the code requirements to avoid costly penalties.
In addition to the sprinkler and alarm system, Salamon Engineering offers its service to help building management comply with the code requiring every Class-E commercial building to have an updated Fire Protection Plan approved by the F.D.N.Y. The Fire Protection Plan is intended to be used for evacuation of occupants in the event of a fire instance as well as F.D.N.Y. mandatory fire drills.
